Unfortunately, it’s about that time. Summer is coming to a close and school, textbooks and early mornings are in view once again. It was a nice run but that doesn’t mean that your summer style can’t be incorporated into your back-to-school wardrobe. This Fashionista found the right equation for summer and back-to-school style.
We all know that when it comes to school, there’s forever the debate about functionality versus style, but why can’t you have both?
This Fashionista is wearing a graphic tank top that is both cute and functional. The orange and white detailing provide contrast to the dark gray of her tank top, which is the cute part, and the tank top itself is the functional part. A tank top is great for those days when you don’t really want to think about what to wear and is perfect for when you’re running late to class. Her denim shorts are very practical; I mean, they’re denim shorts—enough said. Denim shorts are never going to be out of style, so you can rock a different pair everyday until it starts to get cold. I know this might sound weird, but sneakers can be stylish, too: not sneaker wedges but regular, old sneakers. Depending on how you style the outfit, sneakers can make or break an outfit. I personally don’t think you can go wrong with a pair of Converse, especially the classic black pair. Lastly, this Fashionista’s leather jacket comes in handy for those chilly nights or those freezing libraries. A plus is that her jacket is brown and not black. Brown is a little less harsh in color and is better for the season transition from summer to fall.
One Simple Change:Â To take this look from back to school to a girl’s night out swap out the shorts for black ripped jeans and her Converse for booties.
