Hi Fashionistas/os! My name is Blaine, and I am currently studying public relations and fashion merchandising at the University of Akron. I am beyond excited for my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista.
What I love most about my university is that it is located in the heart of a major city where there is always something new and exciting going on around town or campus. The unique street style I see everyday is what influences me most.
Although it is nice to look to celebrities for style advice, I find it even more influential to look to the Style Gurus here at CollegeFashionista. Some of my favorites to follow for the latest trends are Emily Lebsock from Ohio State University, Tess Cvikota from Depaul University and Anna Mathias from the University of South Carolina.
I consider myself to have a fairly laid back sense of style. Usually you can catch me wearing shades of black, white, grey and maybe even a hint of green here and there. I love anything and everything that has to do with stripes, and I believe that hats are the perfect accessory to add to any ensemble. Along with my love for simplistic style, I created a blog, SimplyStyled, where I share my twist on affordable, everyday looks.
This semester I wanted to wear something a little lighter than normal and traded in my LBD for a LWD (little white dress). This white shift dress is the perfect piece to have in your closet for fall. I am looking forward to layering to my hearts content once it cools down, and plan to throw my favorite cable knit sweater on over this dress. Of course, I had to pair this dress with boots, and when I saw these babies at a vintage exchange shop I couldn’t resist. For the final touch I kept it simple and accessorized with some gold midi rings as well as a gold bangle to complete my look.
I am head over heels for CollegeFashionista, and I am looking forward to sharing what trends may come my way this semester.
