Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Brittney Melton and I am so excited to be spending my fall semester writing article for you! This will be my second semester interning with CollegeFashionista and it can only get better from here. If you didn’t know already, I am a senior at East Carolina University. I will be receiving two degrees in May for Communications and Merchandising. My dream is to one day own my own fashion magazine. This internship has helped me a lot when it comes to noticing the things I might want in my future career choices.
Being a Style Guru has given me multiple opportunities that I might have never known about without starting this new journey. One of these opportunities was the knowledge about a Fashion certificate program with Parsons University and Teen Vogue, which I was accepted into. I have many fashion goals, but the one that is most important is currently working my hardest to improve in fashion journalism.
Currently in fashion, I am looking and studying fashion trends for fall office looks. I will be working a self-help job on campus but would love to look trendy in class as well as at work. Ideally, I’d look to do all of this is without having a wardrobe change in the middle of the day. Long skirts, dress pants, long sleeve blouses and blazers are all on my checklist to buy for this coming season.
Fashionably professional is what I will be going for, but until then, let’s find a way to get my current look. I am wearing a front knotted maxi skirt, a graphic T-shirt, Nike flip flops and a couple of accessories. This look is cheap, yet fashionable; it can be worn for multiple occasions. Some events it would work for could be girl’s night out, back to school events, nightlife activities and many others.
I look forward to exploring fashion trends with you this season as a passionate fashion enthusiast, writer and Style Guru!
