Hey guys, Emily here! I am beginning my freshman year at the University of Southern California. I’m originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, but Los Angeles is the place to be for entertainment journalism. It’s a big move, but you’ve got to follow your dreams—and who can pass up living in L.A.?  I know that this is going to be such an exciting journey and knowing that I have my entire future on my fingertips is even more amazing.
I love fashion like I love pizza and ice cream—a lot. It’s more of a hobby of mine rather than something I would pursue as a career, but deciding what to wear every day is something I always look forward to. A good outfit equals a good day, am I right?
Every day, I’m learning new ways to accessorize outfits or a new way to wear an old trend. I learn and take after a lot of what I see on others through social media but I also love to put my own spin on my style. One day I can look like Taylor Swift and the next I’ll be dressed like Kylie Jenner. Â Whatever it is, I love mixing up my style and fashion is an art I have yet to master.
My style consists a lot of white, black and gray. Top stores I shop at are Topshop, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel and Free People.  Those stores showcase my style the most, but I’m always up for grabbing cute stuff off-brand; consignment shops are the way to go!
In these photos, I am wearing a gorgeous red lace crop top from Topshop with a black cami underneath from Brandy Melville.  For the bottoms, I am wearing black, ripped skinny jeans from American Eagle Outfitters, along with some black Vera Wang booties!  To complete the outfit, I paired it with a great black bag and some black jewelry.
I am beyond excited to be a Style Guru this semester! Â Since I post a lot about my lifestyle and outfits on my Instagram, I decided to take it a bit further and share my style with others who want to do the same, along with learning styles from other Fashionistas at USC and other universities across the nation! Â I can’t wait to see how everyone else in L.A. likes to dress up or dress down and take it into my own hands.
I can’t wait for you guys to learn about styles and trends at USC with me! Let’s get this semester started!
