Hello there, Fashionistas! I’m Paige Woiner, and I’m a junior Broadcast Journalism major and English minor at Penn State University. Fashion, like writing, is a true passion of mine, so I’m very excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team!
My love of fashion started back many years ago. In high school, I always liked to dress up, and I wasn’t one to be seen in sweatpants. As I entered into college, my style transformed into quite chic, urban and rocker. No matter what style of clothes I wear, I can’t go anywhere without fixing myself up to look my best. Every day is a blank canvas with the opportunity for creativity and expression, and that’s what I love so much about fashion.
About a year ago, I wanted to do something really bold. I chopped off my hair and got a pixie. As you can see in my photos, the sides of my hair are actually shaved. However, it took me some time to get here. I used to have hair that fell down to nearly my belly button. In January of 2014, I cut it to my shoulders, and then I eventually went shorter and shorter until it reached pixie level in August of 2014. I’ve had this current pixie/faux-hawk cut for a few months now, and I love how it is now a defining quality of my style. They say cutting your hair is an addiction, and they’re right.
Other than a writer and a Fashionista, I am also a dancer. I have been a competitive dancer my entire life, and I am trained in multiple different styles. My favorites would have to be hip hop and contemporary. Like fashion, dancing is a way to express yourself. I love how it can tell a story without any words at all.
In this outfit, I am wearing a grid mesh-paneled top from Forever 21 paired with one of my favorite trends, boyfriend jeans, from H&M. My shoes are also from Forever 21. I’m all about accessories, and I am in love with my sunglasses from Urban Outfitters. Some of my signature jewelry includes my rings, arrow bracelet and Alex and Ani bracelets.
Penn State University is a very large and diverse campus with all different kinds of fashion, and I am excited to share it with you all on CollegeFashionista!
