Hello my fashion-loving friends! My name is Erin Green and I am overjoyed to be returning as a Style Guru this semester. I am entering my senior year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Art History. I am an avid observer and am constantly inspired by the people, places and things around me. Art, fashion and photography are my passions. You know that girl who is always taking pictures of her latte or the shoes she’s wearing? That’s me. After I complete my undergraduate and graduate school education, I intend to take the world of arts journalism by storm, traveling the world and reviewing exhibits at illustrious museums.
Until then, I am happy to be reporting the latest trends on my campus to fellow Fashionistas/os. A few things that are trending in my life right now are Lilly Pulitzer planners, bohemian prints and graduate school applications. My personal style can be described as classic with a twist. I am loving slip dresses, statement jewelry and structured purses, but ones that incorporate a unique shape or fun pattern. My favorite designers are Valentino and Elie Saab; I’m a sucker for elaborate detailing.
In this particular post, I am wearing a retro patterned dress that was my mother’s (sans the shoulder pads), tan booties from Urban Outfitters, a silver and turquoise bracelet and silver statement necklace. The featured accessory, however, is my bright red umbrella; what is a rainy day photo shoot without one? It adds a perfect pop of color against my otherwise darker ensemble. I’m a huge supporter of fashion that’s beautiful and functional.
I very much look forward to another semester with CollegeFashionista and to learning new things along the way!
