Hello to all of you Fashionistas and Fashionistos out there! My name is Kaki Tzagournis and I am a sophomore at The Ohio State University studying Marketing and Spanish. I am so excited to return as a Style Guru for this semester! I absolutely loved writing for CollegeFashionista this past summer and can’t wait to see what this fall has in store!
It’s finally time to return to college after a long summer at home. There is so much excitement and hype to be reunited with your friends when the question arises, what to wear? You will be hopping from party to party and seeing basically everyone you know so of course you want to look cute without trying too hard.
This outfit is an ode to the end of summer before sweater weather begins. I am wearing a halter crop top from Brandy Melville paired with a ’50s-inspired polka-dot skater skirt. I accessorize with neon, one of my favorite summer trends. Both my purse and toenails are a green-yellow neon that totally pop against the neutrals. My wedges are a simple pair of tan TOMS wedges that complement the dots on the skirt. Since I am obsessed with adding pops of color I add a bright, fuchsia lipstick giving this look some ’80s inspiration. It’s always fun to take elements from past decades and intermix them. After all, fashion always recycles trends so why not try to be ahead?
