My name is Elana and I am a freshman at Michigan State University majoring in Marketing with the hopes of working in the fashion industry.
I am from a suburb of Chicago so with the city being a short train ride away, I feel like it is always influencing me. My style is classified as edgy prepster because I love classic pieces while mixing them up with a chic-grunge touch. Home is writing in my Lilly Pulitzer planner, wearing my monogramed baseball cap while listening to the top hip hop tracks. I’ve always known myself as a Fashionista: to strutting in floral leggings when I was seven years old to learning how to rock the “I just woke up” look.
In the above photos I am rocking my classic look: a tie-dye dress and a jean jacket so the look is a bit edgy. By layering chunky and eccentric necklaces the look becomes even more complete, mixed with these classic cut shoes and bag it is transformed into a chic but preppy outfit.
All the items in this look have their own sense of style. The tie dye dress can easily be worn out running errands or dressed up for a dinner with friends. Combined with the denim vest, the look becomes a bit more put-together. The pop of metallic from the bag and shoes encompasses a modern and smart look.
I can be seen wearing this look out to get a green juice on a Sunday morning, or going out to dinner to my favorite rooftop grill with my friends. Each unique piece means this look could be rocked by any Fashionista!
