Hi style lovers! My name is Ali Hinchcliffe and I’m so excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this fall! I’m currently a senior at St. Olaf College, majoring in English with concentrations in educational studies, film studies and media studies. I also write the “Campus Cutie” column for our chapter of HerCampus and I am Copy Editor for our school’s newspaper, The Manitou Messenger.
I’ve grown up dreaming of working in magazine or book publishing and assumed that my love of fashion would only play into my career in picking out each day’s outfits; however, I’ve recently discovered that publishing and fashion go hand in hand and I am thrilled to explore this overlap through CollegeFashionista!
My style has changed numerous times throughout the years, but has always been more towards the girly side. I love statement jewelry, like this necklace from Francesca’s, and have a weakness for any piece with a cutout back, like this dress from Forever 21. Above all, I’m a shoe addict and am always searching for fun statement shoes to add to my wardrobe.
Fashion provides such a fun, creative outlet and I love that CollegeFashionista provides an opportunity to not only update my own style, but to connect with other Fashionistas and Fashionistos over their interpretations of different trends, as well. My goal through CollegeFashionista this semester is to connect with as many of these style lovers as possible, while simultaneously developing my own personal style.
