“Fashions fade, style is eternal.” Hello all my name is Erica Stokes, and I am currently a junior at North Carolina A&T State university. This quote is one of my favorites simply because it briefly describes my style. What I feel on a daily basis comes through with the way I dress. Style comes from within yourself and how you feel. Most days I feel calm and happy, so I like to wear calm colors such as gray, white and nude.
My happy side brings out bright colors such as my pinks and my bright red lipstick (Ruby Woo from MAC), which is my favorite! I am so ecstatic to have this opportunity to become a Style Guru this semester, and I’m ready to gain and experience more fashion tips from other Style Gurus, as well. Fashion has always been a part of my life ever since my sophomore year in high school.
It all started when I took my first apparel class. I learned so much and my sewing skills also improved. My goal within the fashion industry is to own my very own clothing store, have a line and to become a fashion celebrity stylist. These are all goals that I have set and am confident enough that I will achieve. My style absolutely includes one accessory that I need to have at all times—my lipstick that I keep in my purse.
Since the weather is going to be changing soon, I like dark colors such as this dark plum lipstick. This is one of my favorite colors called Media by MAC. So today I decided to keep it simple but chic with a crewneck shirt, boyfriend jeans and my orange Nikes. I’m so excited and cannot wait to share with you my outlook on fashion and to hopefully inspire you and also get inspired!
