Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Jessie Reeder and I am going into my junior year at James Madison University, majoring in Public Relations. I am beyond psyched to be starting my experience with CollegeFashionista as a Fall Style Guru Intern!
When asked to describe my sense of style, all I can say is that it is forever changing. I am always looking for something fun and new to throw into my wardrobe and try out. Lately, my style has been heavily influenced by a blend between boho, the ’90s and even the ’70s, as I attempt to release my inner hippie.
The outfit featured in this post is a blend of preppy and boho-chic. What I like to call statement pants is my favorite because they are light, versatile and comfy. Comfort is key. I wanted the pants to pop so I paired them with a solid white woven cami. As for the accessories, I love mixing and matching; to me, accessories are the finishing touches and the added sparkle to an outfit. My accessories include: a turquoise oval ring and a mixed ring set, a faux stone and leaf layered necklace, gold bangles and a gold linked Michael Kors watch. A lot of my favorite accessories come from day markets and bazaars, but if those aren’t accessible, my go to stores are Forever21 or H&M. These two stores have a ton of cute assortments of rings, bangles, earrings and necklaces, and at great prices too!
The beauty and awe in fashion is that it is always expanding and evolving. It’s amazing to see how people interpret themselves through their sense of style. Growing up, I was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to travel the world. I lived in seven different countries such as: Israel, Austria, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand and the United States. In each place, I found inspiration that sparked a style. I love experiencing and exploring different cultures as there are so many unique assets to each. The constant moving around every two to three years,I feel, reflects in my sense of style. We all have our niche, but it’s exciting to expand and discover new trends. Fashion is one of the best and fun ways of artistically expressing ourselves. Hopefully, the advice and tips I write about this semester can inspire you to rock something that is not your norm as well as add to your own personable style.
