Hello fellow Fashionistas! This is my second semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru, and I couldn’t be more excited to get the ball rolling. Right now, I’m still at Oregon State University studying Apparel Design and Merchandising Management. Photographing my peers’ summer 2015 self-expression has been awesome and I’m curious as to how different the fall and winter might be when it comes to Corvallis fashion.
I wish I could list off a dozen glamorous things I’ve done this summer, and rave about all the places I’ve traveled but I can’t. Fortunately for me, most of you are in my demographic and you’ll understand my situation when I say I worked the whole time. A college girl’s got to do what a college girl’s got to do right? Also fortunately for me, I worked at a dog kennel and the only thing I could possibly love more than fashion is a dog. It’s been busy, but fun nonetheless.
I’m still seriously inspired by anything vintage or retro. My favorite thing to do is wear older pieces with more modern and contemporary elements. Coincidentally, I find that it reflects my personality really well. In this case, I decided to rep my school colors while also showcasing my personal style. I found this vintage orange and black houndstooth blazer at a tiny little consignment boutique in downtown Portland. I paired it with dark wash skinny jeans, an airy white tank top and some tall black leather boots. I added a small, layered opal and gold necklace to top it off.
Summer has been fun and the outfits especially memorable, but I’m really looking forward to the fall. I wish you the best of luck for the start of the school year and may all your pumpkin spice recipes turn out exactly how they looked on Pinterest. Until next time Fashionistas!
