Hi there! My name is Rachel Parks and I am incredibly excited to be launching my debut as a fall intern for CollegeFashionista! I am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I’m an undeclared (and still somewhat undecided for that matter) Spanish and strategic communications major. I have always had a love for writing and fashion, which is why I am so looking forward to this amazing opportunity to combine the two for my posts.
I believe that fashion is one of the best ways to express oneself and I am happy to say that, after a few fashion faux pas growing up, I have found my own style and identity through my clothing. I would define my personal style as “classic with an edge.” It is classic in the sense that I look for pieces that are not only easy to wear, but are also versatile. However, to keep my outfits fun and intriguing, I’m drawn towards pieces that have some interest to them (this is where the “edge” comes in). For example, I took a simple outfit of skinny jeans, a white tank top, and an unbuttoned plaid shirt and gave it some interest by accessorizing with lace-up ankle booties, a small fringe bucket bag and some unexpected red aviators. For the finishing touch, I added a long necklace and a couple of bracelets for a casual, yet stylish, look.
Sophomore year is going to bring a variety of new experiences and adventures and I am ecstatic that CollegeFashionista is already one of them! Keep up with me and my posts on the first of each month this fall! We’ll have a fun semester!
