I think most of us have learned thus far that winter this year is going to be a lot warmer than usual (thanks to global warming). Because of this warm winter weather, it may be a little more difficult to figure out what to wear. You might be digging around your closet trying to find something that is light enough to not be sweating in the mid-afternoon, but something relatively seasonably appropriate—like a thin knit, long-sleeve T-shirt. Regardless of what’s in your closet, the key to maintaining that fashionably winter-consistent, yet light-weight look, is to LAYER, LAYER, LAYER! And to stay styling, pay attention to garment and accessory details.
Take some advice from my fellow Fashionisto here. He has done a great job of creating a layered and textured look that can easily be switched around if the weather fluctuates. He decided to wear a knit, light colored hoodie button-down T-shirt, with a checkered red flannel, and a dark brown leather jacket. The gray hoodie is fun to wear because leaving the hood to hang over the outside of the jacket makes the outfit more three-dimensional. The checkers and the bright color of the flannel gives his outfit a pop of color and pattern. The leather bomber jacket and its fleece-lined collar allow for visual and physical texture against the many knit and woven fabrics he’s wearing. He is also wearing brown leather boots, sturdy enough for the snow and ice, and dark blue jeans. As for accessories, he paired up his brown leather strapped watch with his leather jacket for that complete, down-to-the-details, male fashion look.
