While I am a huge supporter of all-black all the time, there is something I like even more in the summer months: open backs! They are, in my opinion, essentially the new black. What says summer more than showing off a little tanned skin? Now, I realize here in Milwaukee it may take us a while to achieve our optimal tan, but an open back is a fun way to show it off once you got it.
This Fashionista’s white romper is perfect and I have to bring out the expression “business in front, party in back” because that is what this romper brings to the table. From the front, this looks like a perfectly sweet romper, but the back takes it to a whole new level. It adds a fun edge to the otherwise basic romper. She can stroll around in this during the day and also wear it into the evening for a dinner downtown. I love that she pairs this with just a few key accessories like the QUAY sunglasses, gold bracelets and lace-up sandals. Keeping the rest of the outfit simple highlights the open back.
Donning an open back makes any outfit that much more dynamic and it is an easy way to add some flare to your summer wardrobe. Whether it is a shirt, dress or romper, daring to show a little back is fun, flirty and faultless for the summer.
How To: Sport an open back during the day or night, but just make sure it is tasteful and appropriate for whatever it is you are doing. Also, make the open back the focal point of your outfit by keeping everything else relatively simple.
