The title of this article says it all—it’s time to button up our corduroy skirts and buckle down for the fall season to come. Although it seems like it came up faster than we could blink our eyes, I could not be more excited for the fall fashion sneaking up on us.
This Fashionista is sporting my ultimate favorite fall fashion trend right now—the mustard colored corduroy skirt. She recently purchased this from Forever 21, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since she put it on. Not only does the skirt scream fall, but it also complements any and every body type it endures. For this outfit, this Fashionista decided to use the neutral tones of the skirt to really make her top colors pop. She first chose a long sleeve, half-turtleneck styled purple shirt with minimalist stripes hidden in the pattern. I wouldn’t say the mustard and purple complement each other as much as they help draw attention to each other, which is always important when wearing your favorite fashions. She kept this idea going when she decided to top off her outfit with a chunk, forest green cardigan. This was a perfect element for this autumn-toned color scheme and gave the outfit the finishing touch it needed. Her outfit was completed once she slid on her favorite pair of Converse, giving the outfit a relaxed and distressed look.
Fall fashion is one of my favorites to not only wear myself but to also see others wearing around campus. It’s the time of mismatching colors and oversized clothing. I cannot wait to see what else the fall season brings, but of course I hope it comes with a lot of corduroy skirts.
