Dear ’90s kids, you’ve got more options than those criss-crossed plastic chokers now! Chokers are back in a big way, and being recreated in so many different styles. From plastic to velvet and diamonds, they’ve made their way from our favorite childhood stores like Limited Too and Claire’s to our favorite edgy clothing lines and elegant runway shows.
Stores everywhere have embraced the comeback of the choker. Today, you can find them at both small local boutiques and world-famous stores like PacSun, Urban Outfitters and Forever 21. Even fabulous designers have been jumping onto the chocker bandwagon!
Designers have started to transform the original small, flimsy and relatively cheap-looking choker into elaborate statement pieces. Because of this, the choker trend has spread from teens to adults throughout the fashion world. Celebrities, models and style-influencers like Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Vanessa Hudgens and Gigi Hadid, have been seen wearing the trendy item.
Because of the large number of celebrities and high-end designers reinventing the choker, it has become the ‘it’ piece for all occasions and ages. Some of my favorite chokers, for both casual and dressy occasions, can be found at Baublebar.
This Fashionista paired her moon charm choker with a suede, navy halter top, some dark wash jeans and her favorite lace-up booties.
