There is a science to why a man can automatically be twice as attractive when he opens his mouth. No, not that. I’m talking about accents. And by that, I mean the European style. Roll up your shorts and toss on a fedora because the European look is in! This would explain why there are a lot of pale thighs among the men at the beach lately.
When this Fashionisto woke up, he flew across the Atlantic and back fast enough to walk around his campus looking like a foreigner. His salmon-colored short sleeve button-up is a perfect fit. It is about as classy as a polo, but is missing the etiquette of a long sleeve button-up, while avoiding the casualness of a plain T-shirt. The detailing on the shoulders helps it stand out. His navy shorts are a perfect length to reveal his knees without looking too baggy.
By incorporating the well-known fraternity look of Sperry Top-Siders and Ray-Bans into his outfit, he blended into the college campus. After all, he is from America, the land of the free and home of the comfy feet. What obviously sets this outfit apart from the other college students is the fedora. In the words of my favorite television show, How I Met Your Mother, this Fashionisto is pulling it off just as much as Ted and his red cowboy boots. It takes a particular type of guy to not look like a complete imbecile while wearing a fedora, which is probably why I was so drawn to him.
How To: Don’t worry friends. You can get this look without pulling out your passport. The European look requires a few essentials. Your shorts will need to be a few inches shorter than what you’re used to, so in addition to the shorts, I would suggest getting some sun in your boxer briefs a few times. Every true college student has a pair of Sperry Top-Siders, so throw those puppies on. Now comes the trickiest step. Give yourself a good hard look in the mirror. Decide if you can truly pull of a fedora. If you can, please find one ASAP and wear it any chance you can. If you can’t pull it off, grow your hair out to incorporate the European style instead.
