Just in time for summer, this Fashionista is rocking a closet staple that should be in all of our wardrobes—the denim skirt. Trends from the ’70s are making a comeback and with so many variations you are sure to find a variation of the denim skirt that suits your personal style. Now I’m not talking about the little distressed mini skirt everyone had in 2003; the denim skirt is now an A-line mini that is flattering at the hips and typically has brass buttons that trail down the front of it.
Designers like Chloé, Stella McCartney, Frame Denim and other high end designers have added their own twist on this classic piece. There are so many different styles, varying from full length to pencil skirts with slits. This key piece is also able to transition from day to night easily. This Fashionista paired her denim with a trendy cross front tank top and black fringe booties. She also added a few Alex and Ani bracelets for a touch of glam, mixing silver and gold for an effortless look. She topped her look off with a tan, double-breasted trench and side swept braid.
How To: To recreate this look, first find your favorite denim skirt; this may have buttons or a plain front, depending on what works best with what you have in your closet. For a more casual look, you can add a loose crop top or cross front bodysuit. Next, find fringe ankle boots with a small heel to elongate your legs and pair with a light jacket. To make the look more put together you can add simple jewelry and curl your hair.
