Happy New Year everyone! It’s been a long and peaceful break for me this past month. I was able to see my family and life long friends, go to New York City as much as possible, but most importantly, enjoy time off from school. Even though this break completely flew by, I was eager to head back to school to keep discovering fashion trends that are making their way into 2017. It’s officially the midst of winter here in New Jersey and even though most of us season rushers may be getting sick of the sweaters, boots, and the struggle to walk to class in the cold, most of us have been holding on to the last month of being able to wear all of our favorite articles of clothing that make winter so exciting. As we all think of what this past year has brought to us, I think we should all have one thing in particular on our list—denim being back in style.
Denim is a complete essential in my wardrobe and something that has been around since the beginning of time. Denim has continued to make a huge comeback within the past year. It’s exciting to see all of the different ways designers are coming out with new styles. Basically, there’s a way to wear denim any way now. Aside from jackets and skirts, I’ve seen it all. That includes denim dresses, hats, and even heels. My favorite piece that I’ve seen so far is this sweater with denim sleeves.
This Fashionista chose to pair her top with a simple pair of black jeans, which really allow the top to stand out. She also added a pair of black booties. I can’t get over how nicely the sleeves flow with the light denim sleeves. Her outfit is not only super trendy, but super appropriate for the chilly weather of Glassboro. What makes the top most exciting is that she can choose to dress it up, like she has here, or dress it down with a pair of converse and boyfriend jeans. Her tan skin, dark hair, and light eyes illuminate the bright white knit which really brings attention to the lovely sweater and denim jacket mix. Her outfit looks so effortless, yet trendy and stylish.
I would definitely say denim was huge this season, and I predict the denim trend to stay remotely high throughout the spring. But who are we kidding, denim will definitely never go out of style.
