It’s finally fall, which means that it’s about time we style our warmer textures, dust off our favorite lightweight jackets, and show off our darker colors that we have all definitely kept in our closets for way too long. October is a notorious month for the all-black ensemble, but that surely does not imply that going seasonal means dressing plainly.
The Saint Laurent Paris fall/winter 2013 menswear collection was taken from the runway and brought back into street style by this inspired Fashionisto. He’s rocking layers of different textures (cotton flannel, lightweight wool, denim and leather) in a tasteful way that mimics Yves’ toned down rockstar vibe. He’s wearing an Undercover x UNIQLO black lightweight parka on top of a plaid, flannel textured UNIQLO button-front shirt. He ties the look together with BLK DNM waxed jeans and completes the look with a designer touch on his feet, modeling the black leather Hedi Slimane Era SL/02H court classic high-top sneakers from Saint Laurent Paris.
This Fashionisto proves that all-black is not always synonymous with monotonous and that changing up our wardrobes for the season can be all the more fulfilling when it comes to wearing warmer textures. He leaves his parka stylishly unzipped and his shirt sleeves unrolled and untucked in order to mesh the materials and put the outfit together. The distressed black leather sneakers, smooth waxed jeans, shadow plaid flannel and washed black jacket (which is detailed with corduroy accents) balance each other out texture and temperature-wise, making sure the full look is neither too warm nor too cold.
Experimenting with different textures and shades of the same or similar colors leads to a #RAD outcome. Now, are you ready to layer for fall? I know I am.
