For our Fashionista, it’s not always easy finding specific clothing to pull an outfit together, so she always mix pieces up. Thrift store finds and basics are often styled up with shoes and accessories. She doesn’t consider herself one to have a set style, and likes to change things up depending on her mood. She’s given up on planning outfits the night before because she always seems to change her mind the next morning. California’s weather unpredictability comes into play as well.
I visited our Fashionista at work for today’s shoot. It was a Thursday morning, but it is our Fashionista’s Friday for the week because of the holidays. The weather called for a cool but sunny day, so she opted for layers. She wanted to go for comfort, but still wanted her outfit to be work appropriate. Her black pleated jumpsuit has a dramatic V-neck, an elastic waistband that gives a cinched look above the waist, and a wide mid-length pant leg for ease and comfort. She chose a tan 3/4 sleeve faux suede jacket as her cover-up, and accessorized with a multi-colored scarf, a multi-blue Michael Kors backpack, and white and green Adidas Stan Smith sneakers.
I chose this silver-haired Fashionista for my first article because of the way she plays with different colors and textures. And with how different each piece in her outfit is, each piece somehow complements the other. If you look closely at the scarf, it pulls in colors from each piece. This is one Fashionista we should be taking style notes from. Shine on, Fashionista! Shine on!
