After watching Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen in middle school, I immediately became obsessed with Lindsay Lohan’s pin-covered messenger bag. I filled the front pockets of my JanSport backpack with pins and buttons (many with Justin Timberlake’s face on them) and used these details to express myself.
Although my style has matured, I am so excited to say that pinning and patching your clothing is back in style. I am taking full advantage of this trend and middle school Keri would be so very proud.
This Fashionista has optimized detailing on this oversized denim jacket. The leather collar, flannel lining and collection of pins make this jacket one-of-a-kind. Although this piece of denim is unique, this Urban Outfitters patched jacket similarly has a personality of its own. Her corduroy button-down skirt is balanced well with a tucked white tank. A lace bralette, lace detailed socks and the retro black heels add a touch of femininity, proving that the detailed accessories of an outfit are just as important as staple pieces. This look is topped off with a black choker and a mix of rings and bracelets.
Grunge flawlessly meets femininity in this Fashionista’s look. It is all in the details!
Trying to add pins to your favorite jacket but struggling to find some? I have been lucky to find many of my pins at vintage shops around Bloomington, Indiana, but online shopping is your best bet if you do not have luck thrifting, check out Etsy and Urban Outfitters for pins and patches!
