When styling our outfits, we tend to look at accessories as complementing our wardrobe and tying together the idea behind our outfit. Questions arise including, “Can I wear gold and silver together? How much jewelry is too much? Does my accessorizing heavily contrast with my outfit today?” I am here to tell you there is no right or wrong answer. Accessorizing or building up your attire is about making it your own. In order to achieve your style, sometimes it’s best to think outside of the box.
This spring we find a mixture of the grunge hippie who makes each statement piece her own. She wears a colorfully embroidered purse, distressed jean shorts, platform black combat boots, a basic graphic T-shirt and personal accessories. This look captivated me because of her selection of necklaces, bracelets and rings. Aesthetically, this outfit is perfect because it includes the most basic garment pieces of jean shorts and a T-shirt for hot summer days, but the simplicity still allows for fun and funky detailed accessories to create a personalized look.
On the runway we find this trend of bright, fun colors vastly throughout Chanel’s spring 2015 collection. The use of jewelry and colors to make a statement and to show an individual’s style was displayed throughout Moschino’s spring 2015 collection where models were draped in eye-catching and glamorous pieces to complete their look.
How To: This look is easy and fun to imitate. A variety of mid-rings and regular rings worn equally on each hand help to balance jewelry. Pairing these with longer necklaces helps to bring the essence of this look to life.
