Hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I hope everyone has been having a superb semester so far. Now that we are officially in the fall season, the colder weather is finally in full swing. I do not know about the rest of you, but I am SO excited to get back to layering, warm knits and leather jackets. So, this month we are grabbing some inspiration from the past. This post goes to all you groovy Fashionistos out there trying to rock some seriously bold patterns in the fall time. So without a further ado, let’s get started.
As I have emphasized in the past, when it comes to dressing up bold prints and patterns, the golden rule is to keep the rest of the outfit somewhat neutral. If you are trying to rock a statement piece, make sure that the piece is the absolute center of your outfit. That way, everyone’s attention goes straight to the statement piece and you ensure that all eyes are on you! When it comes to this time of the year, the best neutral colors to pair with your statement pieces are definitely the darker colors. My motto is the darker, the better. I love wearing black for an edgy look and army green and taupe colors when I want a more earthy vibe.
This Fashionisto did an absolutely excellent job incorporating his bold print into his ensemble. The entire outfit revolves around this thrifted button-down corduroy shirt, featuring a swirly, totally ’70s vibe print. For the bottom half he’s rocking a distressed pair of black jeans and some black and white adidas sneakers. To top off the look, he wore a taupe, satin bomber jacket and a black leather backpack.
Loud prints and statement pieces in general are always fun to create a really funky, memorable look. I know that whenever I sport a statement piece, my choice in the statement piece always reflects my mood that day in the best way possible. I highly recommend investing in some basic and neutral colored pieces so you never have to worry about rocking a statement piece that catches your eye.
Have a fantastic rest of your October Fashionistas and Fashionistos, and I’ll catch you next month!
