There’s just something about florals that we can’t get rid of, something that gives us nostalgia or a signifier that the season is changing. Yet, it’s not all pretty petals and daisies. Different combinations can make florals bring excitement to an outfit and you can’t help but notice its rapid tendency of becoming a wardrobe staple.
This Fashionista quickly identified that this isn’t just an ever appropriate spring must-have but a sweet, summer pick. What a perfect way to start the new semester and end the summer shenanigans! She had the right idea by going beyond the confines of ditsy print and making it look old-fashioned and quirky. I absolutely love the decoration detail along the hem of her shorts. It gives us a surprisingly teasing texture while remaining true to her look’s flowery ways.
We went from wearing florals every day of the summer to only bringing it out for special occasions, so it’s refreshing to see someone try to put their own bend on it. All of us can an enjoy a short, breezy romper especially if it’s in all black. Looking closer, I loved that she styled her romper and floral kimono with chic, cross-strap sandals and a choker. I also thought the silver rings were a nice touch and easy, simple accessories.
How To: Luckily for us, this outfit requires no hair styling and little effort. It’s meant to give an effortless vibe, which is why we keep going back to florals in the first place. Accessorize and plan around the floral print (or any print for that matter) in order to draw attention to it before anything else. With floral print, always stick to neutrals. Don’t wear any other bright color or extravagant print to avoid clashing. Add small, simple jewelry to keep things a little more interesting.
