From floppy hats on hot summer days to warm, furry hats for those frigid winter days, hats are a perfect last minute accessory to throw on before you run out the door. You just have to be careful of those very windy days where your only worry is that your hat is going to fly right off of your head. Sometimes you may feel like your outfit is missing just a little something but you can’t quite put your finger on it. A hat is a perfect solution to pull an outfit together.
Sometimes when thrifting my favorite things to look at are the hats. There’s nothing more fun than coming across an old Derby hat with bright colors and flowers from the ‘80s or even berets with jewels that look like they’re straight out of Paris from the ‘40s. I absolutely love looking at the trends of hats through the decades. One of my favorite things about hats is that they’re perfect for all year-round and all different types of weather. Break out your favorite furry cap for that snowy day of school or that beanie with your favorite band’s logo on it that you bought last night at the concert you went to. Also, who doesn’t love an accessory that practically is made for those bad hair days? Slept on wet hair and it didn’t quite dry how you wanted to? Throw a hat on and no one will ever know.
This Fashionista paired her tan hat on this windy day with a flowing boho shirt and jeans. It was extremely sunny that day so it was a perfect way to block out the sun. Sunglasses are great but no one likes those little indents you get next to the bridge of your nose, especially for pictures. Although it was very sunny and warm out that day, there’s no reason why she can’t wear that hat when it gets chillier out.
How To: There’s no such thing as someone who “doesn’t look good in hats.” You just have to find the right one for you, whether that means finding a color that complement your hair or the right size. Nothing is more annoying than having a hat that is just a tad bit too big and flies right off into the wind.
