Say hello to the boho! I couldn’t help but to stop and capture this one; this look stood out to me more than anything on campus because it was just too perfect for the spring breeze. From the swirl of different shades of pink, purple and blue, to the way the abstract pattern and crazy line paths unite. Everyone loves a little pattern or two, especially when it can make even the simplest of an ensemble become an eyeful (in a good way of course). I must say the bohemian style is not an easy look to achieve. It is not as cliché as a tasseled headband and a few fringes here and there. The great part about this Fashionista’s outfit is that she had a theme and stuck with it. A true Fashionista knows what look they are going for, and when they go for it, they really go for it all the way! The Fashionista here put more than plenty effort in this style as her off-the-shoulder blouse ties into the look, and gives the full boho effect. With a clothing piece as vibrant and complex as this maxi skirt, the wrong style top or too heavy on the accessories can easily throw off the entire look. When styling textures and patterns, a true Fashionista knows that less is always more. Something as simple as a solid colored blouse is never too hard to find.
As far as accessories go, this Fashionista is wearing a simple small pendant necklace. When wearing tops that drape down or show any bit of the neck, it is always good to wear something that accents your torso and prevents your look from being too “plain Jane”; that is, unless you are attempting to achieve such a look. Lastly, the cross-body bag tops the look off with a bang. The print on the bag is a type of tribal-like print that really emphasizes the bohemian theme of this outfit. Not much is needed to help this skirt stand out!
How To: There is nothing wrong with a little bit of color. Something with so much detail doesn’t need much more than solids to accent it. The detail will speak for itself. A pop of color on your lips, a solid colored blouse and a set of simple accessories will do the trick.
