Winter break is always an awesome opportunity to get out and explore new places with your friends. I love my winter break because I get the chance to visit new campuses and see what kind of fashion people are wearing, especially in the Midwest.
I was exploring Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio with some of my high school friends when we stumbled upon this Fashionista!
This fashion caught my eye because of the pop of red that contrasted her black outfit. I love how she mixed different textures in her jeans, top, and poncho that kept the eye traveling and interested in all the aspects of her outfit. I also adore her floppy hat which is perfect for a dry, winter day. Her basic black booties, ripped jeans, and black top (perfect for layering) all set the canvas for her pop of color in the poncho. The accessories and smoky makeup topped off the perfect winter outfit.
Winter is often seen as a tumultuous time for staying fashionable due to the mixed climates and harsh winds depending on where your campus is. When asking this Fashionista what her key was to staying warm yet fashionable in the winter, she suggested keeping the basis of your outfit simple then layering with more colorful and eccentric pieces. She also emphasized the importance of accessories in the winter since they are an easy way to add to an outfit, especially on a dreary day.
Winter is a great time to experiment with layering and accessorizing. Don’t let a cold, snowy day dampen your outfit!
