ALL IN THE DETAILS: I Don't Care, I Love It

Fashion is about taking chances. If Coco Chanel didn’t think to create the little black dress and if Christian Dior thought “nah, let’s keep the hemline long”, then who knows where we would be today. This is why we all consider fashion to be a form of expression. It’s the way individuals interpret trends and styles that makes the world look unique, so why question the creativity? I remember when I was in middle school and spent hours upon hours in my closet pairing crazy pieces together, deciding what kind of look I was going to go for the next day. One of my outfit creations included a scarf. A bit ambitious for my 13 year-old self I might add, especially because it was summertime. Of course, jokes were thrown around about the necessity of wrapping fabric around a neck in 90-degree weather; and I must admit, they had a point, but to me it was different. I think it’s fun to take chances with your wardrobe. What’s the harm? Whether it’s putting two off the wall patterns together or applying a black lip, I say go for it. My theory is this: you can absolutely rock anything that is everything with just a spoonful of confidence.

A sense of nostalgia came over me when I found this Fashionista in her patterned scarf. Scarf’s are just a flat out fun accessory to have lounging in your closet. For the summertime, thin and light fabrics with fun designs can always change up the day-to-day tank and shorts. Depending on how big the scarf is, there are also many different ways to wear them. I had to resort to Pinterest for some enlightening tutorials, but I now have stocked up some new ways to show them off.

I love how this Fashionista paired her scarf with a simply detailed black tank top and jeans. Her choice in background colors and fabrics let the scarf do all the talking. Her other touches of colored accessories also help tie her outfit together. Her ensemble looks effortlessly cute and comfortable which is always a plus.

How To: Don’t be afraid to try something new! Just grab a designed scarf and start matching it with a plain colored top that goes well with those on your new accessory. Make the scarf stand out in you look.
