It’s that time of year again, Fashionistas! Spring is on its way, but winter continues to dominate. Here in Boston it just snowed a ton for the first time this winter, in February! On the plus side, we got a couple snow days, but, we are just that much further away from spring now. This time of year, I get major winter blues, which starts affecting my style choices because I just want to wear black comfy clothes all the time. For this outfit, however, I decided that I must lift my spirits and add a pop of color to a gloomy winter day.
For this outfit, I really wanted to focus on the details and add some unexpected flair. I kept it comfy by wearing my favorite MOTHER jeans that I literally wear all the time. I paired them with a super cute T-shirt from WILDFOX, one of my favorite brands on the planet. Sticking with the pink theme, I layered a pink, silky vintage blazer over top. To accessorize, I layered my name plate necklace with these two dainty chokers from Forever 21. Being tired of winter boots, I went for my iridescent Sam Smiths from Adidas. Finally, since it is still winter (gross), I finished the look off with a fun, textured jacket from ASOS to keep myself warm and cozy. Oh, I also added some super fun pins on one of my coat pockets. Pins are the easiest way to personalize a piece of clothing. I love to find them at vintage markets and even Brandy Melville has free ones sometimes!
Don’t let the winter blues get you down, Fashionistas! Take advantage of the cold weather to play with layering. Try some pops of color to lift your spirits. Anything to stay positive during these gloomy months. Plus, spring break is right around the corner! Dream of tropical beaches, blue oceans, and warm summer nights.
