Staying fashionable during the four seasons of the year can be difficult depending on where you live. If you live in the wonderful city that is Chicago, you never know what you’re going to get. It could be snowing in May (which has happened before) or a heat wave in October. It all depends on how you prepare for it.
It was a humid, rainy day in downtown Chicago where this Fashionista was spotted waiting out the rain. Decked out in pale pink palazzo pants and a crop top with cutouts, she was ready to handle the weather. Loose-fitting pants are a great way to stay cool in the summer months. Palazzo pants are especially great because of the light fabric used. Wearing these pants you get a good circulation of air hitting your legs and get to stay cute while wearing them.
Crop tops, which have been a fan favorite forever, come in all designs and textures. The cutouts in this Fashionista’s top are so well placed, that I dare say that they were part of a brilliant and flattering strategic plan. She accessorized her look with layered necklaces, a carry-all tote bag, cute sandals and a bracelet. With her accessories, this Fashionista has made it easy for her to be able to switch her look from day to night.
I love how this Fashionista reversed the color scheme of her look. It is quite normal to see someone dress dark bottoms with a light colored top, but the fact that this girl switched them up makes her a true Fashionista.
How To: To fight the weather like this Fashionista, try wearing a pair of loose-fitting pants. If you are like me and are not yet brave enough to wear a crop top, you can wear a tank top or a light colored T-shirt to get the same effect. For an edgier look, try wearing a distressed shirt. As this look is simple, I feel that you can go either way with jewelry. You can go for simplicity and stack dainty necklaces or you can wear one statement necklace. If you do decide to wear palazzo pants, I would recommend wearing a wedge or block heel. Not only will you appear taller, but will also not look as if you’re drowning in a sea of pants. Remember to keep it light and fun for both the weather and yourself.
