ALL IN THE DETAILS: It's the Little Things

One of my favorite things about fashion is the ability to be unconventional with your style. Although I’m not the most creative when it comes to my own personal style (style is a work in progress), I am constantly inspired by the way that other Fashionistas/os are able to integrate creative ideas into their own style.

The first thing you may think of when it comes to unconventional fashion is Haute Couture or unusual materials showcased in designs at Fashion Weeks around the world. However, I think it’s a lot easier to utilize these sorts of creative ideas into our own wardrobe than we realize.

This Fashionista was creative in her own right by wearing this dress as a top—who would have noticed? I know I sure didn’t notice until she pointed it out to me. This blue top (or, dress) from Urban Outfitters felt like “wearing a onesie” in public. What’s better than looking great and also feeling comfortable? Not much.

Pairing her top with a pair of black jeans with holes in the knees and a simple pair of black booties made the outfit go from simple to edgy. My favorite thing about her outfit is her watch, which used to be her grandmother’s. The gold and black detailing on her watch matches her booties quite perfectly.

How To: The next time you’re pulling apart your closet in hopes of finding something perfect to wear, consider pulling out that one item that has been buried in your closet for months and wear it in a new way! Your results will most definitely surprise you. Always be on the lookout for a vintage watch or ring to give your outfit some detail and personality: who wants an accessory that everyone has?
