Ada Byron, a.k.a. Lady Lovelace, is “considered to have written instructions for the first computer program in the mid-1800s.” Even though she is one of the most revolutionary women in history, I want to link her name to one of my favorite trends in fashion, and that is the classy use of lace. Whether it is actual lace or fabric that emulates the texture and detail of lace, using lace, as a statement in an outfit, will always change the mood of a look. Lace has been around a long time now and there are many types of lace, but simple white, textured fabric gives summer dresses a classier vibe. It all depends on what look you want to achieve, but good news is that lace is very versatile.
In a more casual way, you can pair any lace top with denim shorts and some cute running shoes. This screams chill summer vibes and the detail goes in to the organic forms intertwined in the movement of the fabric. However, this Fashionista took the details and delicate nature of lace and used it to make a feminine “going out” look. She paired her classy cocktail dress with nude heels in order to keep the outfit completely neutral. Overall, she achieved a porcelain doll aesthetic due to the angelic white of her dress with the gorgeous neck detail. This outfit can be used in any light and airy daytime event, as well as bringing it to night time summer dinners.
