Ok, it’s no secret I have a mild obsession with leather. My obsession with leather is almost as serious as my obsession with Dave Franco. Almost. Sometime in recent history (dating back two or three years), leather made a big comeback. When I used to think of leather, I thought of John Travolta crooning down a high school hallway in Grease. Or I thought of Joey Tribianni entering that famous New York apartment in an episode of Friends followed by a “how you doin’?”  Now I think of leather as a key component of my wardrobe, be it as a dress, pair of joggers, skirt, etc.
While leather can now be adorned in a myriad of ways, there is still nothing as cool and classic as a leather jacket. This Fashionista adds a twist on the classic as the jacket she wears is a deep red. It brings out her burgundy lipstick and burgundy hair. Paired with a simple grey tunic and leather leggings, the look is chic and edgy. She accessories it with a two-toned leather purse to add neutrals to the color palate. She finishes her outfit with a black bowler hat for a little dash of debonair charm. Her ensemble is eye-catching. She dresses her petite frame well using masculine pieces and a color palette with hints of burgundy to create a fun and urban look.
There are certain trends I wish would disappear soon (glittery UGGs, purses with big designer labels, the word “bae”). There are others, like leather, I want to stick around for awhile.
How To: Wearing leather may seem like a risk, but I can assure you it’s not. Make it simple buy wearing a pair of leather leggings with an oversized graphic T-shirt and a tied flannel at the waist.
