Michael Kors said: “I have always thought of accessories as being the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit.”
I have always loved a good hat. When I was younger my grandmother had the most amazing hat collection. Her closet was filled to the brim with every type of hat you can imagine: straw hats, wide-brim hats, velvet hats with feathers, fedoras, even beanies. Growing up, I spent hours in front of her mirror trying on her various hats and striking poses at myself (something I am not ashamed to admit I that still love doing). After all, what is not to love about hats? Not only can they cure every bad hair day, but they can also be the perfect finishing touch to any look or used as a statement piece to spice up an otherwise basic outfit. Though my small collection of hats has nothing on that of my grandmother’s, I still consider myself a true hat enthusiast.
This Fashionista, also a self-proclaimed hat lover, chose an adorable straw hat with a black polka-dot ribbon detail. She kept her simple basic with just a plain white tank top and printed shorts. By adding a few other accessories, an Aztec-inspired bronze necklace and matching bronze stackable rings, this Fashionista gave her outfit interest while still letting her hat be the focal point. A pair of black wedge heels completes the look.
How To: When wearing a hat, it is important to make sure that you do not overwhelm your ensemble with accessories. By sticking with fashion staples you will have more room to play around with different styles of hats and discover what style fits you best. At the end of the day as long as you wear your hat with confidence, you are sure to look fierce.
