Summer has not been the most friendly as of late in Rhode Island. Sub 80 degree temperatures and gray days have literally been clouding over any and all plans for warmer weather fun that is so typical here. Beach days have gone blah and that is not okay. My entire wardrobe as of late revolves around pants and the color black. Luckily enough, this Fashionista is making a splash with her styling of the same key elements and can inspire anyone struggling through a cooler summer.
I absolutely am in love with this Fashionista’s choice of colors. She proves that black doesn’t have to be basic and makes the color look alive and fun. Her color blocking with the aqua pants is utter perfection and still oh so simple. The fluttery peplum of the top adds a nice feminine touch as well.
The most pivotal, eye-catching part of this Fashionista’s fabulous outfit is her statement necklace. The pop of color on top stands out in lovely contrast to the darkness of the shirt and pairs swimmingly (excuse my pun!) with the pants. My favorite thing about statement necklaces is that they immediately add interest and can elevate nearly any look from boring to bold.
As far as the other accessories are concerned, simplicity is key here! A silver watch, some classic sparkly earrings and a cute ring add a bit of extra oomph. Her black strappy flip flops coordinate well and don’t take away from the outfit’s focus: that fabulous statement necklace. Overall, this Fashionista is definitely making a splash!
How To: If you’re having some difficult weather, don’t be afraid to pull on some pants and embrace the color black with a peplum top. Also, remember to keep it summery by pairing with brighter colors and a coordinating statement necklace for some added sparkle.
