ALL IN THE DETAILS: Men's Street Wear Style

For this month’s article, I wanted to write an appreciation post to all the guys out there that can work the street style just as well as their female counterparts. For years women have dominated the fashion scene, and men have relied on their family members or significant others to dress them, but no more! Men are making a comeback and starting to pay more attention to their personal style, and I don’t know about you guys, but I think it’s fabulous!

This Fashionisto recently returned from a study abroad semester in Paris, France, and he couldn’t help but bring the surrounding fashion inspiration back home with him. Now that he is back in the States, he uses online sites to purchase some of his favorite staple wardrobe pieces from Sweden, France and Spain.

When you live in a region that has confusing weather, layers become your friend, and this Fashionisto provided us with a perfect example of how to rock a layered, street style look. A light sweater with a simple print draws the eye without being to loud, and a dark wash jean gives the outfit a level of sophistication. To make the whole ensemble more functional for the fall, he layered a quilted bubble vest that provides some insulation during the chilly fall mornings, but still keeps the look polished.

He finished off the outfit by accessorizing with the two items that I believe every guy should have: a sophisticated watch and trendy sunglasses. Then to make the ensemble more casual, he sported a rolled hem on the jean with a pair of simple, clean cut Nike sneakers.

What makes this outfit such a good example of men’s street wear style is the details that are incorporated. The uniform blue hue allows the look to flow together, the rolled jeans paired with tennis shoes creates a more casual tone, and the accessories help to polish off the look and give it a masculine edge.
