Millennials are truly in love with the style and fashion of the ’90s era. There’s just something about this era that makes people gravitate toward it and recreate the trends. I’m a ’90s baby myself, and growing up in the middle of loose-fitted clothing and bright colors was truly a sight to see. Another major style in the ’90s was grunge, the careless bad boy style. Today, grunge takes on many different styles and trends.
The Fashionisto above mixed his grunge style with hipster qualities, giving it an authentic “I could care less” vibe. He has on an oversized, distressed shirt and black skinny jeans. Most of his outfit came from retail stores like Urban Outfitters and H&M. However, grunge is all about worn clothing, so if your budget is a bit tight, the thrift store is your new best friend.
How To: When it comes to deciding on shoes, always make sure that they have a grunge look, such as lace-up Dr. Martens or Chelsea boots. Grunge is a very dark trend, so your wardrobe should be full of muted or shaded dark colors. Also, invest in a flannel since you can incorporate them into your wardrobe in more than one way. Accessories should be a bit more punk and radical, similar to this Fashionisto’s Stainless Steel Finger Double Ring Band. And remember, distress yourself! Anything in your outfit that looks worn out and ripped is always a great idea when going grunge.
