ALL IN THE DETAILS: No Faux Pas

This Fashionista is taking a step back in time, to a day where fur was a must-have in everyone’s closet. But I don’t think that time or your fashion conscious student has forgotten what a little fur can add to your look. It’s winter in Eugene, and it is the perfect time to dig into your wardrobe or maybe your mother’s or even grandmother’s closet to find some hidden gems in the form of fashionable–but faux!–fur.

I caught this Fashionista on her way to class, and instead of wearing a puffy insulated jacket to keep her warm, she wore her fur coat. This outfit is perfect for a day at class when it’s a little chilly. A time to be comfortable, stylish and yet stay warm. Fur comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. You can express yourself in a fur vest or a full knee length coat ranging in color from black to tan and a number of shades of brown. Don’t forget white: it presents a sleek and elegant look. This Fashionista is rocking a vintage full-length coat, actually handed down in her family from generation to generation. She rocks the look with a pair of black skinny moto jeans with her classic black Dr. Martens boots to top the outfit off.

It’s essential for any Fashionista/o to check out some vintage shops in one’s local neighborhood to snag some new quick original pieces to add to your wardrobe. You never know what gems you might uncover in these stores. Eugene Jeans is located just a short walk from the University of Oregon campus. It is a perfect place to hunt down and find a flawless vintage item that adds a touch of something new to your wardrobe. Or if you want to exchange your clothes for new some new pieces, check out Buffalo Exchange, they seem to always have a good assortment of clothes, and their inventory is replenished regularly.

How To: Definitely check out all the different colors and styles of fur, it can really change or complete your look. Recently, I have seen new coats on many of my favorite fashion sites. It seems to be for all the IT girls, the new brand is cruelty-free as it is faux fur and is called Shrimps. Shrimps’ coats add color and pattern to a simple outfit, and make it a little fancy.
