As the summer has come to an end, the coming season trends are becoming more and more apparent. Summer this year in Michigan has been almost unbearable with the amount of heat we have received—and with that heat, it’s been important to wear and do whatever it takes to stay cool. While this week especially was broiling, I noticed a trend around campus—statement sandals.

I loved the colors in her outfit because they just screamed summer—bright blue and neon coral made her outfit extremely eye-catching. Trending lately have been monotone ensembles, specifically in black, white and nude, so it’s refreshing to see people break out of that fad and bring some color back to the fashion world. Not only was the color of her sandals in and stylish, but she also worked a ’90s platform look. Her shoes worked so well because they added a bit of height while being cool and comfortable to walk in—exactly what to stride for in a “hot” summer look .
