Everything about this look is detail oriented. When thinking about the best way to execute this article, I knew right away I would capture this look from my friend Tayler. His style is almost uniform and on any given day you will see him wearing a pair of Levi’s, a plain T-shirt and a leather jacket. It’s classic and simple, which leaves plenty of room for him to experiment on his clothes. Everything is hand painted, which is not only a really cool detail but it also makes it personal. There are so many things on the jacket that you definitely have to stop and look at it for a moment. Besides all the humorous lines, like momma’s boy, the jacket is covered in random pins. Yes, that’s a Delta Airlines pin.
What I love about this look is how expressive it is, like he’s wearing a page from his sketchbook. With everything going on, underneath it all is that classic, American style. At SCAD, we are constantly reminded to brand ourselves and this guy is doing just that!
Whether this is your style or not, we can all take something away from this look. First, that self-expression is super important. Being yourself and showing the world how you feel can only lead to a healthy conscious, and I think that it’s pretty amazing that clothes can help do that. Secondly, fashion doesn’t have to be so cookie-cutter, but spontaneous and experimental. Go out of your comfort zone and see what happens!
