ALL IN THE DETAILS: Seasonably Late

This year has flown by. So much has changed from move-in day until now. Whether it was your first year in college or you’re about to graduate, we all learn and grow as young adults throughout the year. Naturally, our wardrobes evolve with us and become a reflection of those changes. However, we don’t have to completely forget about those great pieces and our favorite trends that we basically lived in during the beginning of the year. The solution is to style them in a fresh, new way.

When I spotted this Fashionista, I immediately noticed her gorgeous shoes. Her Steve Madden booties reminded me that suede is still current. The suede is a beautiful tan color that worked great for fall, but is also amazing for spring. It adds texture and richness to the outfit without being too heavy. Not only are her ankle boots the perfect shade, but they work as a great transition piece for those awkward days when you can’t decide if it’s hot or cold. The peep toe style is great for spring days. Also, it is paving its path to become a major spring footwear trend.

This Fashionista is killing it in the shoe department, and she ensures that the rest of her outfit follows. She wore a great pair of distressed denim that adds a casual and relaxed vibe when paired with her soft olive green T-shirt. Then, she dresses the outfit up with accessories, by sporting a staple neutral bag, a gold statement necklace and mirrored sunglasses.

This look is fresh for spring, yet still incorporates pieces from the Fashionista’s closet. Suede was a huge trend in the fall, but that doesn’t mean it’s irrelevant for spring. This Fashionista took a trend through multiple seasons with the right styling.

How To: While taking your favorite trend into another season can be intimidating, it just takes some creativity. So, take suede out of your closet and bring it into your spring wardrobe. Wear it with light wash denim and a simple T-shirt. Play around with accessories to elevate the look, just like this Fashionista.
