Take notes darlings, this is how you pull off suede!
The comeback fabric made its way onto the runways of Chloe, Jason Wu and Saint Laurent for SS15, then inevitably into the high street and we’ve been obsessed ever since. You can find suede in basically in so many forms now: dresses, A-line skirts (my personal fave), culottes, fringe accents, you name it! This Fashionista rocks her look in this suede jacket from Mango and it completely elevates her whole outfit.
What I love about this outfit is how she takes style trends from the ’70s and ’90s but still manages to look modern and fashion-forward. Also, the jacket and the light cotton shirt make such a pretty pairing! The shirt is simple and classic, making the jacket really stand out. I feel like with suede it’s very easy to build up an outfit and suddenly look like a western cowboy, but this look is well-balanced with the trendy mom jeans and Stan Smiths.
Of course, no outfit is complete without some accessorising! This Fashionista finishes off her outfit with a dainty silver necklace, a gold, menswear inspired watch, some rings and a chunky vintage leather belt. Mixing metals is another way of making this ensemble look more contemporary and very chic.
So what makes this a showstopper? I think it’s all the attention to detail that was put into this outfit. The closer you look, the more you want to imitate it because she just looks so damn cool. Her outfit is like the Goldilocks of suede, not too little, not too much.
By the way, we were actually twinning in the same exact jeans and we didn’t notice until halfway through our shoot. Super ironic considering this article is all about appreciating the details of one’s outfit. But anyways, it was such a blast photographing this Fashionista!
