Oh, the weather outside is finally frightful, but us Fashionistas know how to handle the cold! It looks like the heat wave may finally be over as the temperatures are finally starting to creep into the 40’s and I am seeing talk of snow and winter weather. I don’t know about you but I am ready for some snow days and for my coffee to warm up my insides. One of the best ways to accessorize your outfits in the winter is to add different accessories to keep you warm on those bone chilling days. You’ve got jackets, coats, scarves and sweaters; although, we all know the best accessory is that grande Starbucks cup in hand, am I right?
This Fashionista found this long, puffy coat with great detailing and fur to keep her warm on this cold, cloudy day. As I’ve said before, black is the most flattering and simplistic way to look put together on any occasion. I loved how this Fashionista kept the rest of her outfit simple but adding the long army green coat added a little something extra to make the outfit pop. To stick with the simplistic theme, this Fashionista kept her accessories pretty minimal by adding a small tan over-the-shoulder bag and basic black military boots to her look.
The army green utility jacket is a favorite of everyone, but that’s the issue—everyone has one. This coat is the perfect shade of green but doesn’t leave you looking the same as every other girl walking around campus. If you’re looking to add a little more fashion flare, you could swap the fur hood coat with a full faux fur coat. By doing this you would be adding a little more risk and fierceness to your outfit, but if you’re up to it you could definitely go full fur.
How To: Stick to a flattering pair of jeans and a simple comfortable sweater. Find a coat, or a jacket with some special detailing that makes you feel like you just stepped off the runway. Add a simple, yet comfortable pair of shoes to keep your feet happy while walking around campus and you are good to go!
