I have always admired people who are not afraid to take chances in how they dress and be bold with colors and accessories. However, I think there is a time and a place to tone it down and dress in a simple manner. Personally, I am more comfortable in a simple, easy look than in a striking, daring one. That doesn’t mean that I can’t still be unique and choose accessories that stand out in their own way.
When I first saw this Fashionista, it wasn’t just one detail that stood out to me. Rather, it was how seamlessly everything worked together to complete the look. Her black swing shift dress acts as a base, and the rest of the pieces add something extra. Her simple white Keds offer some cool contrast to the black dress without being overbearing. Her jewelry is my favorite part of the look because it is so clean and stylish, tying together the outfit. Her gold rings, including a midi ring, multiple bracelets and a necklace all embody the same simplicity. Her white manicure and trendy yet easy hair-do finish the look.
Of course, this Fashionista would have looked great without the details I described, but adding these created a complete, fashionable look and is essentially what inspired me. Her look is appropriate for many different occasions, especially with a few accessory changes, but I love how she took popular trends and simply made them her own.
How To: This look is easy to recreate and very customizable. Pick up a T-shirt dress, which won’t be hard to find these days, and choose clean accessories. The black dress acts as a good slate and offers an opportunity to play around with accessories.
