July calls for barbecues, bonfires and beach days. That also means opportunities to rock sweat-proof pieces that are comfy and breezy for those outdoor festivities. One trend that many Fashionistas are rocking this summer is soft patterned shorts. I’ve also seen many clothing stores carry these pajama-like and easy-to-wear bottoms. They radiate boho-chic vibes and provide comfort that denim shorts can’t.
My Fashionista this week is wearing a pair of rust colored, patterned shorts. These shorts have an intricate, white embroidered print. The rust color complements her tan skin very well. It is also a high rise short with a rope drawstring that can be worn with a top tucked in. She chooses a black, V-neck, loose fitting shirt to layer over the shorts that showcases most of the statement bottom. The flattering fit on the shirt also keeps with the casual theme. For shoes, she wears a pair of gold Tory Burch flat sandals with the designer’s signature logo that is eye-catching, yet elegant. The metallic gold and the warm rust color pair up like a dream.
A month of summer has gone by so quickly, so it’s time to really find fun festivities to engage in with friends and meet new faces. This look is perfect for beach days and backyard BBQ gatherings, or for exploring new areas in the city that you have never stepped foot in.
How To: Showcase your patterned shorts with an understated black or white top. Toss on an oatmeal colored cardigan for cooler nights out.
