Contrary to popular belief, all college students don’t wear running shorts and oversize T-shirts to class. Many college students use their campus as their runway to try new styles. The ever-changing weather on our campuses give us the opportunity to try new things. Every college campus has people who care about fashion, and people who could care less. This Fashionista says her outfits reflect her mood and personality depending on the day.
By buying basic, easy to wear pieces, it allows you to mix them up and make multiple outfits out of them to freshen up your closet. The best thing about campus is that you’re able to see how students style certain clothing you may be wondering about, and it’s a source of inspiration for your next outfit.
This Fashionista wears a blue and white striped button-down paired with light wash 501 Levi’s (she scored them at a local thrift store) and Dr. Martens. She accessorized her outfit with a simple black leather belt, a nude tone leather watch, and safety pin earrings (which, might I add, are all the rage right now). I believe the smallest of details make a difference in an outfit. In this case, the Dr. Martens and the black leather belt make this Fashionista feel edgy.
It goes without saying that black leather always gives you that touch of edginess you might be looking for without doing too much. Whether it’s a leather jacket, a leather crossbody bag, leather boots, or even a leather skirt, try adding a touch of leather in your next outfit for a little edge!
