Believe it or not, I was once taught how to embroider. My grandmother is an excellent seamstress and would make clothes for my mother growing up. At age eight, my grandmother thought it was time that I learn a valuable skill. Although it may not be as important as riding a bike or tying shoelaces, I felt pride in creating small patterns. On a small piece of cloth, I learned how to do simple flowers. When I see embroidery on clothing, I feel nostalgic. Embroidery embodies femininity and gives such a romantic feel to a garment.
This Fashionista rocks a loose white top with black embroidered detailing. The detailing on the sleeves adds a nice, finished touch to the top. Here is one of my favorite embroidered tops! This Fashionista mentioned that she enjoys being casual and comfortable on her way to class. Rather than grabbing that old T-shirt that needs to be washed (don’t worry, your secret is safe with me), this top helps the busy Fashionista to look put together and chic at all times. She pairs her top with a pair of comfortable black leggings and riding boots. This Fashionista shows us that the details in a top, such as embroidery, can transform an outfit from drab to definitely fabulous.
How To: This Fashionista shows just one of the many ways to rock an embroidered top. Depending on what you will encounter that day, you can be casual or dressy, depending how you style the top. Family lunch? Grab your favorite pair of jeans and some ballet flats. Job Interview? Pair it with a black pencil skirt and a black blazer.
