Like I said in my last article, summer is one of my favorite fashion seasons. One of the greatest parts of summer is being comfortably chic. From sundresses to sunglasses, summer is filled with fun and easy fashion items. Living in Indiana, however, we must remain wary of versatile weather. The only constant thing about Indiana’s weather seems to be that it is consistently inconsistent. Luckily, you can pair summer accessories with more protective clothing, such as jeans, to stay trendy and warm.
Also, designers have also given us a way to stay warm with hot new trends. Reviving previous trends was a common theme among designers. After all, in fashion everything old is new again. Khaki was a recurring style in runway shows, from Coco Chanel to Ralph Lauren. Givenchy and Dior made their marks with jumpsuits and denim, while other designers opted for softer, more romantic looks. One of the designers’ favorite crazes appeared to be sandals.
A true Fashionista knows that a summer outfit is not complete without a pair of sandals. This Fashionista rocks a simple summer look. For colder summer days, toss on a simple white T-shirt and jeans over your swimsuit. Complete the look with a pair of edgy sandals. I personally love this Fashionista’s light-washed, cuffed jeans. Despite being simple, they dress up her simple white top and complement her sandals.
How To: Next time you’re planning an outfit, start with a pair of sandals! Try to make your sandals your fashion focal point and work the rest of your outfit around the shoes.
